A campaign to formally recognise Tyrone Beach as a locality.

The coastal pocket from White Cliffs to Blairgowrie, extending inland to Melbourne Road, has long had its own distinct identity.
Locals know it. Visitors know it. Businesses already use the name.
Recognising Tyrone Beach as a locality would help preserve local heritage and give this part of the Mornington Peninsula the recognition it deserves.

Why recognise Tyrone Beach?

Preserve Local Heritage

by properly reflecting the 180-year historical connection to the 'Tyrone' run and indigenous Moonah trees.

Improve Navigation & Safety

by providing clearer geographic markers for residents, visitors, and emergency services in the foreshore area.

Strengthen Community Identity

by formally acknowledging the unique character of this residential and coastal precinct, which is already used extensively in local terminology.
